The blocks are manufactured by hydraulically compressing a laterite mixed soil and cement mixture in an Interlock Block Making Machine (Fourway interlocking blocks and plain blocks). The Interlock Building System replaces conventional bricks and mortar by the use of interlock blocks. The other components of the conventional building system remain unchanged. The cost of labour is reduced because the blocks are larger than bricks and no cement or sand is required for the construction. The standard interlock blocks have a good finish and straight walls can be obtained easily. Highly skilled labours are not required for the construction with these soil blocks.
